The core issue: Foam rollers work by compressing tissue against bone from outside the body. The psoas and iliacus can only be accessed from the front — through the abdomen (psoas) and inside the hip bone (iliacus). This requires a completely different approach than rolling.

What About Lacrosse Balls?
